Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU7-4P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU7-4P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where RNU7-4P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU7-4P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, LUAD, and KICH are the cancer types where RNU7-4P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
