Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU7-18P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU7-18P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RNU7-18P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU7-18P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, BLCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where RNU7-18P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
