Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-977P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-977P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where RNU6-977P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-977P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and ESCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
UCEC, BRCA, and ESCA are the cancer types where RNU6-977P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
