Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-88P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-88P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where RNU6-88P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-88P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

UCEC, THCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where RNU6-88P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
