Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-87P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-87P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RNU6-87P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-87P is over-expressed in tumor.

COAD, CHOL, and STAD are the cancer types where RNU6-87P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
