Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-878P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-878P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), where RNU6-878P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-878P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PAAD, LUSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where RNU6-878P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
