Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-720P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-720P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RNU6-720P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-720P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, READ, and THCA are the cancer types where RNU6-720P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
