Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-312P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-312P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RNU6-312P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-312P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, KIRC, and CHOL are the cancer types where RNU6-312P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
