Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-208P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-208P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where RNU6-208P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-208P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as ESCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
ESCA, BRCA, and COAD are the cancer types where RNU6-208P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
