Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU6-100P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU6-100P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RNU6-100P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU6-100P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where RNU6-100P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
