Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU5E-1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 19 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated RNU5E-1 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher RNU5E-1 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated RNU5E-1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as OV and UCS show a favorable association.

MESO, ESCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where RNU5E-1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
