Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-72P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-72P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where RNU4-72P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-72P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
READ, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where RNU4-72P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
