Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-62P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-62P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RNU4-62P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-62P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, BRCA, and STAD are the cancer types where RNU4-62P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
