Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-35P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-35P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where RNU4-35P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-35P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, HNSC, and THCA are the cancer types where RNU4-35P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
