Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU4-24P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU4-24P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where RNU4-24P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU4-24P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
UCEC, PRAD, and KICH are the cancer types where RNU4-24P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
