Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU2-5P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU2-5P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where RNU2-5P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU2-5P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, KIRC, and STAD are the cancer types where RNU2-5P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
