Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU1-72P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU1-72P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where RNU1-72P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU1-72P is over-expressed in tumor.

COAD, STAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where RNU1-72P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
