Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNASEH2A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 17 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNASEH2A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where RNASEH2A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNASEH2A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, KIRC, and COAD are the cancer types where RNASEH2A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
