Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RGS8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated RGS8 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher RGS8 Mutation is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated RGS8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and UCEC show a favorable association.
SKCM, COAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where RGS8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
