Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, REST Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated REST data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher REST Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated REST expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and BLCA show a favorable association.
UCEC, SCLC, and LIHC are the cancer types where REST Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
