Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, REST mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated REST data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher REST mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated REST expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and LSCC show a favorable association.

CCRCC, PDAC, and LUAD are the cancer types where REST mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
