Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, REG1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of REG1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where REG1B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types REG1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where REG1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
