Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RAB27B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RAB27B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where RAB27B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RAB27B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, THCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where RAB27B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
