Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PXDNL RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PXDNL’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where PXDNL RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PXDNL is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KIRP, and HNSC are the cancer types where PXDNL tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
