Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PVR RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PVR data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher PVR RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PVR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and SCLC show a favorable association.
KIRP, HNSC, and BLCA are the cancer types where PVR RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
