Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PTPN21 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PTPN21 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 9 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher PTPN21 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PTPN21 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as GBM show a favorable association.
LUAD, PDAC, and GBM are the cancer types where PTPN21 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
