Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PTOV1-AS2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PTOV1-AS2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PTOV1-AS2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PTOV1-AS2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, HNSC, and STAD are the cancer types where PTOV1-AS2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
