Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PTEN Mutation is linked to patient survival in 12 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PTEN data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher PTEN Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PTEN expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and LUSC show a favorable association.

MESO, KICH, and ESCA are the cancer types where PTEN Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
