Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PTEN mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 8 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PTEN data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 12 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher PTEN mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PTEN expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and PDAC show a favorable association.

CCRCC, COAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where PTEN mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
