Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRX RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PRX’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where PRX RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PRX is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, THCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where PRX tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
