Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PRR15L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PRR15L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where PRR15L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PRR15L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where PRR15L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
