Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POU5F1P5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of POU5F1P5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where POU5F1P5 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types POU5F1P5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where POU5F1P5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
