Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POLR2J RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of POLR2J’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where POLR2J RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types POLR2J is over-expressed in tumor.

KIRC, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where POLR2J tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
