Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POLR2E mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated POLR2E data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher POLR2E mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated POLR2E expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and LSCC show a favorable association.
HNSC, LUAD, and LSCC are the cancer types where POLR2E mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
