Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POLR1D RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of POLR1D’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where POLR1D RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types POLR1D is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, COAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where POLR1D tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
