Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POLG Mutation is linked to patient survival in 10 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated POLG data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher POLG Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated POLG expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
CESC, SKCM, and COAD are the cancer types where POLG Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
