Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PNMA8B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PNMA8B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where PNMA8B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PNMA8B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, BLCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where PNMA8B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
