Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PML mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PML data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher PML mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PML expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and HNSC show a favorable association.

COAD, LSCC, and PDAC are the cancer types where PML mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
