Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PLA2G2C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PLA2G2C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PLA2G2C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PLA2G2C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LUAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where PLA2G2C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
