Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIWIL3 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PIWIL3 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher PIWIL3 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIWIL3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG and OV show a favorable association.
SKCM, LGG, and LUAD are the cancer types where PIWIL3 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
