Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIK3C2G mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PIK3C2G’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where PIK3C2G mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PIK3C2G is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
CCRCC and LUAD are the cancer types where PIK3C2G tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
