Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIGM Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PIGM data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher PIGM Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIGM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
SKCM and LIHC are the cancer types where PIGM Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
