Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDE4B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDE4B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PDE4B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDE4B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KICH, and LUSC are the cancer types where PDE4B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
