Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDE1C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 17 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDE1C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where PDE1C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDE1C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, COAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where PDE1C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
