Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PCDHB16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PCDHB16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PCDHB16 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PCDHB16 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRC, and KICH are the cancer types where PCDHB16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
