Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PCCA-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PCCA-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where PCCA-DT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PCCA-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where PCCA-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
