Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PARP9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PARP9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PARP9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PARP9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, HNSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where PARP9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
