Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, P2RX4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of P2RX4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where P2RX4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types P2RX4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, COAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where P2RX4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
