Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR9A3P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR9A3P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR9A3P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR9A3P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, UCEC, and CHOL are the cancer types where OR9A3P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
