Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR8X1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR8X1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where OR8X1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR8X1P is over-expressed in tumor.

KIRP and KIRC are the cancer types where OR8X1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
